The first level of training is Open Water Certification. It is open to anyone age 14 years old and up. Jr. Open Water Certification is for ages 10 to 14. The training is broken down into three Steps : Classroom, Pool and Open Water Dives. Islanders trains using either the PADI or SDI system two of the most trusted names in Diving.
Step 1 – Classroom – this includes home study using your Open Water Crew Pack and classroom taught by your instructor here at Islanders.
Don’t worry if you have a busy schedule, you can take the home study and classroom portion online at either PADI or SDI. That way you can work on it anytime day or night, whenever is most convenient for you. Click banner below to sign up.
Step 2 -Pool Training – This is were you get to put on gear and get underwater. Pool training gives you the skills you need to go on to open water and complete your certification. We progress through the training at your pace, making sure you are comfortable and confident before moving on to the next skill.
Step 3 – Open Water Dives – we do this portion at one of our local quarries over two days, usually a Saturday and Sunday. We can also do these on one of our trips.
We provide the major scuba gear necessary for the course. We require that divers have or purchase their own personal gear and student learning kit (crew pack) before the course begins. Your personal gear consists of your own mask, scuba fins, snorkel and boots. Course Schedule is located on our calendar. Click on schedule under lessons tab to see when the next class starts. You should sign up two weeks before the class starts.
Private Scuba Course- Take this course one on one with our Instructor. We tailor the course around your schedule.
Winter Course is the time to Scuba – Pay about half now do all the Classroom and Pool inside were its warm. You will Receive your confined water card accepted just about anywhere in the world people dive . Then you can wait till its warm here pay the rest of the course fee and finish up your Open Water Dives to get your certification. Going on a trip somewhere tropical? you can pay their open water fee and finish there.
